The Allegheny County Family Division Court has opened up a new "branch"
child support in Mt. Lebanon.
WHAT DOES THIS OFFICE DO? Plaintiffs can file a complaint for support at the office. Hours of operation
are Monday - Friday, 8:00 a.m. - 2:00 p.m. So get there early.
Parties can also do "walk-ins" without appointment to obtain
case information or assistance with cases. Monday - Friday 8:00 a.m. -
2:00 p.m. Also, attorneys can "screen" cases here (though this
is not publicly noted).
Parties can attend support conferences and hearings at the South Hills
office. In that case, you would receive an Order of Court telling you
where and when to report.
Payors in contempt of court can make purge payments at the South Hills
Office. The South HIlls Office only accepts cashier's checks or money
orders. No cash, no personal checks, no credit cards.
CAN I USE THIS OFFICE? Your ability to use this office is based upon the zip code of the
Defendant of the support case. Generally, you can file if the Defendant lives in
Mt. Lebanon, Bethel Park, USC, South Park, Castle Shannon, Dormont and
many other "Southern" locales. A complete list of zip codes
serviced by this office is at the end of this blog.
However, you cannot file for support at the South Hills office if your
case involves a support agency from another county, state or country.
In that case, you would go to the Inter-Jurisdictional Support Department
located at Suite 210 of the Allegheny Building, 429 Forbes Avenue, Pittsburgh PA.
SPECIAL PROCEDURES: Unlike the Pittsburgh support court, you CANNOT take third parties with
you to wait. The waiting area is simply too small. Only parties and counsel
may attend. Also, the office entrance is located in back of a strip mall
and can be tricky to find the first time. Give yourself extra time.
LOCATION: It is located at 250 Mt. Lebanon Boulevard, Suite 200, Pittsburgh, PA
15234. The phone number is 412-350-5600 and the fax number is 412-344-1459.
ZIP CODES: The South Hills support office takes cases where the Defendant has the
following zip codes: 15102, 15129, 15203, 15210, 15211, 15216, 15220,
15226, 15227, 15228, 15234, 15236, 15241, 15242, 15243.
