Attorney
  • Profile

Curtis joined the firm in July 2018, previously working for a larger law firm in downtown Pittsburgh. In this traditional “big law firm” setting, Curtis did not feel that it was conducive to establishing the personal touch needed for family law clients. He now joins our firm as a zealous, compassionate advocate for all clients in the areas of custody, divorce, equitable distribution, alimony, Protection from Abuse (PFAs), support, relocation, and other family law matters.

Curtis has devoted his practice solely to family law since becoming a member of the Pennsylvania Bar in 2016, even serving on the Allegheny County Bar Association Family Law Section Council. While attending law school at the Duquesne University School of Law from 2012 to 2016 as an evening student, Curtis worked as a tipstaff (junior law clerk) to the Honorable Donald R. Walko, Jr. of the Allegheny County Court of Common Pleas Family Division, conducting legal research and writing for various family law cases. In this capacity, Curtis obtained invaluable knowledge of family law and a thorough understanding of the Allegheny County family court system.

Curtis is a 2016 Juris Doctor (J.D.) graduate of the Duquesne University School of Law and earned the Family Law concentration, indicating at least 16 credit hours devoted to subject matters related to family law. Curtis also drafted a research paper on Pennsylvania Paternity Law in light of recent Pennsylvania Supreme Court rulings. In addition to his employment as a tipstaff and attending school, Curtis concurrently served as a Research Assistant to Professor Kenneth Gray and Dean Emeritus Nicholas Cafardi, aiding the latter with developing new course materials for his Pennsylvania Family Law Casebook.

Curtis also is a 2009 cum laude graduate of the Pennsylvania State University – University Park (B.A., Political Science & History), where he was active in various activities including ComRadio, a college talk radio station.

Originally hailing from the great City of Philadelphia, Curtis lives in Cranberry Township with his loving wife Danielle and son Theodore. In his downtime, you can often find Curtis brewing beer, cheering for and sharing his love of the Penn State Nittany Lions and Phightin’ Phillies with his son, and training for various 5Ks.
